Introduces philosophical ideas and methods concerning knowledge, reality and values. Topics include the sources and limits of knowledge, and the nature of reality. Other topics that may be examined from a philosophical perspective include the nature of the self, truth, ethics, religion, science, language, beauty and art, political theory, or mind.

Explores the meaning(s) of scientific facts, laws, and theories—with special attention to the development of scientific thought, the nature of scientific discovery, contrasting interpretations of scientific inquiry, and the ethical ramifications of scientific discovery.
